Get away from smokey, crowded London Town to take a short break at Little Leaf in St Ives. Make time for galleries, spectacular beaches and scenery.
It’s nearer than you think
We think nothing of jumping on a plane to Croatia or hanging around in train stations to get to Paris for the weekend: St Ives is much easier to get to and it doesn’t even snow down here.
London to St Ives by train is a gorgeous 5 1/2 hour journey from Paddington and trains run almost hourly; you can jump on a plane from Gatwick and be at Newquay in 45 minutes or you can go the old-fashioned way and drive, being sure to take some interesting detours on the way down.
It’s a myth that you need to come down for at least 5 days… you really don’t; in fact if you jump on the Night Riviera which arrives into St Ives at 8.30 in the morning then you won’t even waste time travelling.
Why St Ives?
You might as well be in a different country. The weather down here in the Winter is much warmer and you can get away from the stifling heat of the City in the Summer.
Just a 2 or 3 day short break in St Ives can make you feel rejuvenated and ready to face the London underground once more. Walk along a deserted beach (of which we have many) or, if you’re worried about missing the culture, take in the Tate, the Barbara Hepworth Museum and wander through the many modern and classical art galleries which thrive in this buzzy town.
And you’re still connected
Don’t believe what you hear about being off the map in St Ives: Here at Little Leaf Guest House we have wifi throughout the house and an iPad in the living room so even if, in a moment of madness, you throw caution to the wind and leave your phone in London you’ll still be able to check emails and get online.
A short break for two people at Little Leaf starts from as little as £130 (including breakfast) and we have single occupancy discounts if you really want some peace and to get away on your own. Our breakfasts will set you up for the day and will keep you going till you fancy a Cornish Cream Tea at one of the many cafes around town.
Knowing that St Ives really is only a train ride away from London will not only mean that you get back refreshed, you’ll also be thinking about the next short break where you don’t have to worry about exchange rates!
